Carolyne Scenna est une artiste multidisciplinaire originaire de Tiöhtià’ke/Mooniyang/Montréal. Le travail qui en découle touche principalement à la sculpture, aux techniques d’animation expérimentales et à l’imprimé, prenant forme dans des installations imposantes et toujours absolument matérielles, où ses questionnements se transposent dans la métaphore et la matière. Elle s’intéresse notamment à l’impermanence, à la vision spéculative des environnements bâtis, au déficit de l’attention, ainsi qu’au rapport à l’image, et pose un regard critique sur les structures fragiles des espaces qu’elle occupe et au sens donné des objets et des matériaux qui habitent les œuvres — qu’il soit de nature philosophique, politique ou esthétique. Depuis 2015, ses œuvres ont été présentées lors d’expositions solo et de groupe dans des centres d’arts et des institutions reconnues au Québec, au Canada et aux États-Unis, en plus d’avoir réalisé de nombreuses résidences de création et de production. Elle détient une maîtrise en arts visuels et médiatiques de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (2017).

Carolyne Scenna is a multidisciplinary artist from Tiöhtià’ke/Mooniyang/Montreal. She is interested in matters such as impermanence, the speculative perception of built environments, the lack of attention and our relation to the image. She casts a close eye on the fragile structures of the spaces she occupies, and on the meaning given to the objects and materials that inhabit the works – whether philosophical, political or aesthetic in nature. Since 2015, her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in renowned art centers and institutions in Quebec, Canada and the United States, besides numerous residencies. She holds a master’s degree in visual and media arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2017).
